Odds

When deciding which team to pick and which target to shoot at, the most important factor to consider is the odds that come with each choice. Each team has their own level of skill, and the odds of making each target reflect their abilities. These odds are displayed when the mouse is hovered over each target. You can view the odds of all targets at once by clicking the “rules” button

The Track Comes to your Computer!

A day at the races is one of the most time honored traditions in all of sports. From the Kentucky Derby to the Grand National to the Japan Cup, horse racing’s popularity is felt world-wide. But with our Gold Cup Horse Racing, you don’t have to take a trip to the track to enjoy a day at the races. Gold Cup Horse Racing brings all the excitement of the track straight to your computer. All of the variables that make horse racing so exciting are incorporated into Gold Cup Horse Racing, including track conditions and horse characteristics. The thrill of victory is captured with a photo-finish at the end of every race; the only difference is that you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to experience it.

How To Play

Before you begin a race, you must first decide on the stakes. These can be found in the “Credits Value” menu in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. You can set the stakes as low as $0.01 and as high as $1.00.

Choosing a Track

In Gold Cup Horse Racing we offer three different tracks for you to choose from: American, Asian and European. With each track, realistic racing conditions will be provided. Conditions for the track can be grass, dirt or mud, and the sky can be either cloudy, sunset or night.

Getting to Know the Horses

Each horse in Gold Cup Horse Racing has its own name and personality, with factors like age, preferred conditions and wins vs. losses all coming in to play. You can view all of a horse’s stats by clicking on their name with the mouse. Each race will feature between five and ten competing horses.

Betting

Betting on our Gold Cup Horse Racing is easier than ever before. We’ve taken out complicated terms like “Place,” and “Trifecta,” and completely simplified the betting process.

To place a bet on a horse, all you have to do is choose one of the competing horses, and choose which of five places you think it will finish in. You can bet that one horse will finish first, a different horse will place second, a different horse in third, and so on. However, if you aren’t sure which you think will finish first or second, that’s ok too. You can hedge your bets by betting that the same horse will finish first and place second. If you’re so inclined, you can even bet that every horse will finish in every position!

To place these bets, use the mouse to click the box that corresponds to the horse you want to bet on, and the place you think it will finish. When you do this, a green marker will be placed in that box. You can play up to five credits in each box, adding credits with the left mouse button, and subtracting them with the right.

You can tell how much you have wagered by looking under the “Bet Amount” column, which will tell you the amount you have wagered on each horse. Next to this column is the “Possible Win” column, which will display the cash amount that you can win on each horse.

Odds

When betting on any horse, the most important factor to consider is the odds of that horse winning. The odds are displayed next to the horse’s name under the “Odds” column. The odds of a horse winning will always be displayed as a fraction of 100. For example, one horse may have odds of 21/100, while another may have the odds of 7/100. The higher the odds of a horse winning, the more likely that horse is to win the race. However, the higher the odds of a horse winning, the less money you can win if it does in fact win.

The opposite is true of horses with lower odds. While the chance of them winning is smaller, the payout when they do win is exponentially greater. In horse racing, one rule is always true: the bigger the risk, the higher the payout!
